Important: check required for all seller accounts

To keep our platform safe and reliable for all buyers and partners, we must comply with strict laws and regulations. That is why we record who is selling via bol and regularly check whether company details are up to date. In addition, we are improving the security of seller accounts with 2-Factor Authentication to prevent abuse. It is therefore important that all details in seller accounts are complete, correct, and up to date. This applies to every partner to be able to continue selling via bol.
What do you need to do?
This year you will receive a personal invitation to go through the following steps:
- Set up 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), if you haven't done so already
This is necessary to better protect your account. This step always comes first. - Check and/or complete your company details
This way we can be sure that everything is correct and up to date. - Perform an ID check
Of the owner of the account and/or authorized representative(s), as legally required. - Provide any additional documents
Depending on your legal form.
How to prepare
To prevent delays during the check, we recommend that you check a few things in advance.
- Check your SBI or NACE code. Make sure that your company's SBI or NACE code(s) match the activities you carry out via bol. According to our terms and conditions, the business activities registered in the Trade Register must match the activities with which you sell on the bol platform. For most partners, this means that at least one of the registered SBI or NACE codes relates to retail, trade, or e-commerce activities. Incorrect, missing, or outdated business activities are a common reason for additional questions during the verification process.
- Check your product range. During the check, we will ask you to indicate again which product categories you sell or want to sell via bol. Select all categories that fit your product range, even if your product range has not changed. Only choose 'Other' if none of the available categories apply.
- Use your legal first name. Always fill in your official first name or names as stated on your passport or identity card. Different nicknames or abbreviations can lead to delays during the identity check.
- Take a clear photo of your ID document. Unclear photos are a common reason for rejection or additional questions. So make sure that:
- the ID document is fully visible;
- no fingers or other objects cover parts of the document;
- there is sufficient light;
- all details are clearly legible.
Deadline: within 3 months after personal invitation
Make sure all steps are completed within 3 months after your personal invitation. If details are missing, we will unfortunately have to temporarily close your seller account until everything is complete. If we need additional details or have questions based on the information you submitted, you will receive a message from us about this. If information is not provided at all or is not in line with our terms and conditions, a final closure will eventually follow. We are of course happy to help you prevent this.
In our privacy policy you will find detailed information about how we secure data.
