Climate Hub

Bol wants to accelerate sustainable consumption. Our ambition is to reduce the impact of our activities on the planet as much as possible. We do this, among other things, by packing and delivering our products as efficiently as possible. All the electricity we use comes from Dutch solar panels and wind turbines. But that doesn’t mean we’re there yet.

The retail industry is responsible for a significant percentage of global greenhouse gases, such as carbon emissions. We need to join forces to reduce these emissions. Although this may seem like a lot of work at first, it also offers us an opportunity to work together on reversing the effects of climate change. As part of the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi), we are working with our parent company Ahold Delhaize to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout our supply chain. In that context, we’re looking forward to working with all our partners.

We understand that measuring and reducing carbon emissions is a new and evolving topic. With our climate hub we want to support you with information and tooling to start your reduction journey, or help you progress on your current climate reduction efforts. You will find new content and updates about our emission reduction program on this hub.

Good to know: all information shared with you on this climate hub refers to company-level reporting on scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Simultaneously, we are developing a consumer-facing tool for which we are investigating product-level climate impact. This tool will be rolled out in 2024 and 2025 – more information on this will be added later.

Where to start?

This climate hub guides you in taking the first or next steps of your emission reduction journey. In general, there are 2 areas to work in, being (1) Carbon Footprinting and (2) Climate Targetsetting.
