Shopper Agent is the personal AI shopping assistant from bol. It helps customers navigate the retail platform in a new way. The assistant chats with the customer: it asks questions and shows matching choices. You can find the assistant in the app and on the website next to the search bar. This is an extra option alongside regular searching and browsing. The familiar ways of shopping via bol will therefore remain.

Customers describe what they are looking for in their own words. Shopper Agent then asks targeted follow-up questions about wishes, preferences, or budget. The system uses this information to retrieve relevant products using the search and ranking systems of bol. Then, our Shopper Agent AI determines which products best fit the conversation. The assistant looks beyond just keywords. It also uses product attributes, descriptions, and other factual information.

For example, is a customer looking for a 4-person tent for an active road trip? Shopper Agent uses this context for a targeted selection. This selection may differ from normal search results.

You do not need to sign up for Shopper Agent. You also do not need to adjust your way of working. Your current assortment and product information form the basis. Your products appear automatically when they are relevant to the customer. This is a great extra opportunity to increase your sales via bol.

Here is how to help customers find the right product:

• Fill in all relevant product attributes. Think of material, dimensions, compatibility, or the intended use.
• Write a clear and factual title. State directly what the product is and avoid unnecessary words.
• Make your product description valuable. Explain what the product is for and when it is suitable.
• Keep your information consistent. Ensure your title, description, attributes, and images provide the same factual information about your product.
