The registration process

Setting up your seller account takes some time, but don't worry: we'll guide you step by step. Once all your data has been verified, you'll be ready to sell your items in no time.

Are you an international partner?

This process only applies to partners based in the Netherlands or Belgium. Are you based outside the Netherlands or Belgium? Click here to find out how to register.

Please note

To sell at bol, you must meet certain requirements. These requirements are outlined in the Conditions of Use Professional Sales via bol. If you do not meet these requirements, you cannot open a seller account on bol and/or your active seller account may be closed. We carry out checks to verify new partners and monitor existing accounts. This helps us determine whether you’re suitable to operate as a sales partner on our platform. These checks are conducted under the Sanctions Act and the Digital Services Act. They may result in rejection of your application for a seller account and/or closure of an active account.

1. Create a seller account

A bol account gives you access to various platform services from bol. Do you want to start selling? You can use your existing customer account or create a new account with your business email address. You will use this email address to log in and access your seller account.

Set up two-step verification immediately when creating your bol account. This keeps your account extra secure!

2. Register your company

To register your company, we need certain information from you. Based on this information, we perform checks to determine if you can become a selling partner. For this check, we collaborate with an external service provider: Duna. They quickly verify your data. Naturally, we always handle your data carefully and in accordance with our privacy policy . What you need for registration:

  • A valid company registration number (KvK/KBO): To sell via bol, as a Dutch company, you must be registered with the Chamber of Commerce and have a valid Dutch VAT number. As a Belgian company, you must be registered in the Belgian Commercial Register and have a valid Belgian VAT number.

  • A valid VAT number from the country of establishment: You need a valid VAT number to create a business seller account. The VAT number must belong to your company and originate from the country where your company is officially established. For example, if your company is based in the Netherlands, you need a Dutch VAT number. An activity code such as an SBI code (Netherlands) or a NACE code (Belgium). These codes are linked to your registration with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) or the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO) and provide information about your company's activities. Questions? Contact the Chamber of Commerce (Netherlands) or the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (Belgium).

  • A valid identity document (passport or ID card): As an online marketplace, bol is legally obliged to verify certain identification data before you can sell via our platform. We control here, among other things, with whom we do business and whether you are authorized to represent the company with which you wish to do business with us. The identity document you use for this must be valid and must not be registered as stolen or missing.

  • An active bank account located in a SEPA country. This account must be in your name or your company's name.

The screening

After we have checked whether you meet our conditions, we perform some background checks before finally activating your seller account. We perform checks to verify new partners and monitor existing accounts. This allows us to determine if you are suitable to be active as a selling partner via our platform. These checks are carried out within the framework of the Sanctions Act and the Digital Services Act. Please note that this process may take some time, sometimes even several weeks. You will always receive an email once your screening is complete.

We may reject your application for a seller account. This will, for example, be the case if you do not meet the requirements we set above and in the Conditions of Use Professional Sales via bol and/or if you have been convicted of relevant criminal offenses in the past 5 years (for example, for fraud, forgery, handling stolen goods, embezzlement, and money laundering, etc.)

3. Set up your seller account
