Campaign types and timelines
We distinguish between 4 different campaign types via bol, and there are even more opportunities to participate in promotions. On this page, you will find an explanation of the different campaign types and when is the best time to start preparing.
Campaign types and timelines
Every quarter, we organize various promotional campaigns, from awareness to discount. On this page, you can read about the different campaign types and the steps and timings involved. This way, you'll know exactly when to propose items, when to adjust your prices, and when a campaign goes live.
When adjusting your prices, you will always find a maximum promotional price (MPP) in your account. Experience shows that a price below this MPP often leads to a greater increase in sales and better results after the promotion.
We distinguish 4 types of bol campaigns
Check out the different campaign types we have at bol

Discount campaigns - large events with high discounts
Think of the bol 7-day sale, Sale/Soldes, and Black Friday. This type of promotion is suitable if you sell flexibly priced or deal-driven items (such as electronics or personal care).

Relevance campaigns - respond to the season
Inspire customers during special moments like Carnival, Valentine's Day, and Christmas. This type of promotion is suitable if you sell highly thematic items (such as carnival costumes, Valentine's cards, and Christmas tree ornaments).

Select campaigns - reach loyal customers
Offer exclusive discounts to bol's most loyal customers. Use ongoing deals or large Select campaigns to build customer loyalty.

Daily deals - immediately increase your sales
Attract attention with promotions that are live for 1 day. The time pressure often leads to a significant increase in your sales. Suitable if you want to stand out with a unique price and relevant items.
Retail moments
These are other relevant moments, separate from bol, during the year that partners can capitalize on. These are also moments when a customer is looking for specific items. This includes all other holidays and seasonal activities where the customer is looking for relevant items.
When do I start a promotion?
9 weeks before the start, you will see which items from your product range are suitable. We base this on the expected chance of success. Are you missing an item you have high expectations for? You can propose items via your seller account up to 7 weeks before the start. 4 weeks in advance, you will see which offers have been approved by a promotion specialist. After that, you have a few more weeks to set your prices. The promotion will automatically go live with all approved items.
