New delivery method PostNL letter mail Shipping via bol
Deadline op 13 juli 2026

As of July 13, we are changing the network we use for letter mail shipments. Due to an amendment to the Postal Act, longer delivery times for letter mail are permitted. We choose to use a more reliable PostNL network from now on, to maintain the fast delivery promise. This network runs via PostNL's parcel network and ensures higher delivery reliability and faster delivery. This change affects delivery, labels, and conditions.
What is changing?
- New PostNL network for letter mail
Letter mail shipments via Shipping via bol will be processed via PostNL's 'Brievenbuspakje+' parcel network from July 13. This network has a higher delivery performance, with a delivery promise of 'Ordered today, delivered tomorrow'.
This means better delivery reliability. - No longer drop off in orange mailboxes
Letter mail shipments may no longer be dropped off in the orange PostNL mailboxes. Drop-off is only possible via PostNL drop-off points. Letter mail that still ends up in mailboxes may be delayed. You may also receive a surcharge for this. This can also affect your score for the service standard 'Handed over on time'. A lower score on this service standard can result in strikes. - Letter mail and parcels no longer need to be separated
Another change is that letter mail and parcels no longer need to be delivered separately to PostNL. It is also no longer necessary to deliver letter mail and parcels separately at Ampère. - Different labels
You will no longer see a letterbox label in the seller account, but a letterbox parcel label. With this label, the shipment will, of course, remain suitable for letterbox delivery.
What do you need to do?
✅ Drop off letter mail shipments at a PostNL drop-off point
❌ Do not drop off in orange PostNL mailboxes
✅ Use the label as provided in your seller account
✅ Letter mail and parcels may be delivered together
