Commission

Offering your product range via bol is free. You only pay commission over sold items. We invest this in, among other things, the continued optimisation of the platform. This allows you to sell as smooth and easy as possible and we continue to meet customer needs together.

The commission you pay for each sold item consists of:

  • A fixed amount, which is determined based on the selling price of the item.
  • A percentage of the selling price, depending on the product category – and in some cases the selling price – of the item.

What do I get for the commission?

The commission you pay is used to develop and maintain the platform. In doing so, you benefit from the following advantages:

  • Customer reach: We are reaching more and more consumers in the Netherlands and Belgium via computer, tablet, mobile and the app. This is because we are constantly optimising and expanding these channels.
  • Qualitative platform: Because we are constantly developing and optimising the shopping platform, we can also meet customers’ needs as best we can. Thus, we continue to increase conversion (meaning the percentage of the viewers actually buy the item) on a technical level, in the customer journey, and across all channels.
  • New features: New technical innovations are constantly being developed for partners, which also help in improving conversion. Think of, for example, functionalities such as volume discount, where you can offer the customer a discount when buying multiple items per order.
  • Search engine optimisation: The items you sell through bol end up high in the search results of Google and price comparison sites, among others, through search engine optimisation, increasing the number of quality visitors.
  • Marketing: Bol deploys consumer campaigns throughout the year to ensure that millions of customers in the Netherlands and Belgium find our shopping platform. In addition, SEA, or paid search engine marketing, is deployed, which increases traffic and conversion for your offer as well.
  • Easy to do business with bol: Via your seller dashboard you can track your sales and gain insight into your own sales performance. Within this, we continuously work on improving the user-friendliness of the systems, so that selling through bol is as easy, efficient and profitable as possible.
  • Financial processing: Both you and your customers are relieved of the hassle of handling finances centrally. Bol also allows customers to choose from all forms of payment, which increases conversion. In addition, we bear the risk for non-paying customers, and you pay no transaction fees.
  • Economies of scale: You benefit from economies of scale, for example in shipping, logistics and automation.
