Commission rates
Read everything you need to know about commission rates on this page.
Changes to this page
From 4 June, this page will change. You will find a clear table showing commission rates by category, a general overview of the rates, and an explanation of fixed and variable commission. Specific information, such as how much commission you pay for a particular item, can be found in your seller account.
Standard commission rates
In the rates table below, you'll find the commission excluding VAT, per product category. This is a general overview. Want to know exactly how much commission you pay for your specific item? Then go to the 'Items' section in your seller account and enter the relevant item and selling price to see the correct commission amount. You can also calculate your margin based on this. Learn more about setting good prices here.
General overview of commission rates
** The percentages are exclusive of VAT and apply to the selling price of items including VAT.
*** For these items (books, film, music, and gaming software, both new and second-hand), you pay a media surcharge of 1 euro (excluding VAT) per item sold.
**** A-brands: Logitech, Microsoft, HP, Logitech G, Razer, Dell, Apple.
***** Original brands: Brother, Canon, Casio, Dell, Dymo, Epson, HP, Kodak, Kyocera, Lexmark, Oki, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, Utax, Xerox & Yanec.
Example calculation for standard commission rates
You sell an item for 100 euros including VAT. First, you calculate the commission percentage – for example, 5%. That's 5 euros. Then you add the fixed commission amount, which is 5 euros + 0.83 euros. So, for this item with a selling price of 100 euros, you pay a commission of 5.83 euros excluding VAT.
Is your business based in the Netherlands? Then you pay the Dutch VAT rate of 21% on the commission, and this will also be charged on your sales invoice. If you sell from Belgium and have a valid Belgian VAT identification number? Then commissions are generally calculated excluding VAT and will therefore also appear excluding Dutch VAT on your sales invoice.
Reduced commission for competitively priced items
For selected items, we offer a temporary reduced commission. You receive this reduced commission if you can offer the item at a competitive selling price. These lower prices lead to more sales, allowing you to generate more revenue with a sharper price and pay less in commission. It's a win-win situation! With a reduced commission, it's more attractive to price items competitively. This way, we help you earn the same or more profit despite a sharper selling price, and we offer our customers the most attractive offer.
Within a large number of product categories, we identify items that are not yet competitively priced but are interesting to customers. In these categories, you can benefit from a reduced commission when your selling price is equal to or lower than the indicated price point. As soon as your price is equal to or lower, the commission reduction will be automatically applied.
How to use reduced commission
Follow the 2 steps below to activate the reduced commission in your seller account, on the 'My items' page.
Filter your offer
Click 'Filter' above your offer on the top left and select the two 'Active' filters in the 'Reduced commission' category. Curious which items are currently eligible for reduced commission? Then view the active items directly here.

Lower your prices
If you set your price at or below this price point, your commission will automatically be reduced. For each item, it is visible how long the reduction applies. After this period, or as long as your price is higher than the price point, the regular commission will be charged.
Reduced commission via API integration
In this documentation, you can read how your current API can be adapted to use reduced commission. Do you already have an integration via an intermediary? Then check out the manuals from the different intermediaries below to make use of the reduced commissions:
