How does the policy point system work?
Each partner receives 100 policy points per year. When there is a policy violation, a certain number of points are deducted from the total. Not every violation is the same. Therefore, we have divided policy violations into 10 main categories and assigned a weight to each violation in the form of a certain number of points. This means that a minor offence weighs less than a major one. In this way, the consequences are properly proportionate to the offence.
Good to know: if you have multiple seller accounts, we have the power to deduct the relevant number of points on all your accounts linked to the same Chamber of Commerce number for certain policy violations.
In the seller account you can see on the ‘Prestaties‘ page how many policy points you have. There you will also find an overview of any previous violations.

What are the policy violations and what are their consequences?
We have divided the policy violations into a number of main categories. You can find these in the table below. Click on the link on the right for more information on that category, including examples of what is and is not allowed.
What happens if you make a policy violation?
If a violation occurs, the partner concerned will receive an e-mail showing the number of policy points deducted. One year after the points are deducted from the total, they are reinstated in the seller account. A points total of 0 means a permanent closure of the seller account – and a closure of all other seller accounts linked to the same Chamber of Commerce number. If the seller account is closed based on policy points, no points are reset. The account is then permanently closed. It is also then no longer possible to create a new seller account.
Why do we work with this policy point system?
With this system, we tackle undesirable behaviour and unfair competition so that you can sell via bol.com as successfully and fairly as possible. We would like to stress that policy violations are monitored from day one of sales and that this system only applies to partners who do not comply with the terms and conditions.
