Commission
Offering your product range via bol is free. You only pay when you sell something, namely a commission. This contribution is invested, among other things, in continuously improving the shopping platform, so that together we can continue to meet customer needs and you can sell via bol as effectively and easily as possible.
Here's how commission is calculated:
- a fixed amount per item. This fixed amount depends on the item type and the selling price (including VAT).
- a fixed percentage of the selling price. The variable commission is calculated on the selling price (including VAT). This percentage depends on the item type and, in some cases, the selling price.

Regular commission rates
In the rates table, you'll find the commission excluding VAT, per product category. This is a general overview. Want to know exactly how much commission you pay for your specific item? Then go to the 'Items' section in your seller account and enter the relevant item and selling price to see the correct commission amount.
Reduced commission for low-priced items
For selected items, we offer a temporary reduced commission. You receive this reduced commission if you can offer the item at a competitive selling price. These lower prices lead to more sales, allowing you to generate more revenue with a sharper price and pay less in commission. A win-win situation! With a reduced commission, it's more appealing to price items competitively. This way, we help you keep the same or even more profit, despite a sharper selling price, and we offer our customers the most attractive offer.
Across a large portion of product categories, we identify items that are not yet competitively priced but are interesting for customers. Within these categories, you can benefit from a reduced commission when your selling price is equal to or lower than the indicated price point. As soon as your price is equal to or lower, the commission reduction is automatically applied.

VAT
Is your business established in the Netherlands? Then you pay the Dutch VAT rate of 21% on the commission, and this will be charged on your sales invoice. Are you selling from Belgium and do you have a valid Belgian VAT identification number? Then the commissions are generally calculated excluding VAT and will appear on your sales invoice without Dutch VAT.
