Feed for food-producing animals Netherlands

Do you want to offer feed for food-producing animals for the Dutch market via bol? Then your organization must have a registration under feed regulations as of 17 November 2026. On this page, you can read how to request selling rights.

Selling rights are required for the following product categories:

  • Horse feed
  • Horse treats
  • Duck feed
  • Farm animal feed
  • Lick stone
  • Hay

Why is registration mandatory?

The registration requirement applies to all traders in feed for food-producing animals. This is laid down in Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No 183/2005 (Feed Hygiene Regulation). The objective of the EU feed hygiene legislation is to guarantee the safety of food, animal feed, and the environment.

Which registration do you need?

You can apply for an NVWA registration via this link. One of the questions asked is which feed activities your company carries out.

Organization with a Dutch branch or warehouse
Does your organization have a branch or warehouse in the Netherlands registered with the Chamber of Commerce? Then register this Dutch branch as a feed business with the NVWA.

Organization without a Dutch branch or warehouse
Is your organization based abroad and do you not have a branch or warehouse in the Netherlands registered with the Chamber of Commerce? Then registration with the NVWA is not possible. In that case, we ask for proof that your organization is registered as a feed business with the national food authority of the country where your organization is established. In Belgium, for example, this is the FASFC.

You request selling rights by following these steps:

Send the completed information below as a request for selling rights to productsafety@bol.com; (Are you requesting these rights for multiple accounts? Then repeat steps A through G for the other accounts).

  1. Seller account name
  2. Retailer ID
  3. Application date
  4. Sales email address
  5. Selling rights for: Feed for food-producing animals
  6. 'Yes, I agree to the additional terms ' Conditions of Use Professional Sales via bol' for selling rights
  7. G. Proof of registration as a food business with the NVWA; or proof of registration as a food business with the national food authority of the country where your organization is established.
