Add charging information for your product range

At bol, we want to work together with you to ensure the best offer for our customers. This also includes complying with the latest laws and regulations. On December 28, 2024, the EU introduced new regulations (Directive (EU) 2022/2380) for standardizing chargers and charging specifications for electronic devices.
What does this mean for you?
Read more about this legislation.
For certain items, you are obliged to state whether (i) the item is supplied with or without a charger and (ii) what the charging specifications of the device itself are. This involves the following information:
- The minimum power required for the device to charge.
- The maximum power required for the device to reach its maximum charging speed.
- Does the device support fast charging?
You can find this information, for example, in the manual, technical datasheets, or on the manufacturer's website.
To ensure the quality of our shared product range, we are making it possible to provide this additional information with your offer. For new items in certain categories, bol has made this information mandatory. After entering the information, it will automatically become visible in the form of icons displayed on the item page. This concerns the following attributes:
- Includes adapter(s)
- Maximum charging power
- Minimum charging power
- Fast charging functionality

This applies to the following items:
- Mobile phones
- Tablets
- Digital cameras
- Headphones
- Portable speakers
- Portable navigation systems
- Earphones (Earbuds)
- Headsets
- Portable video game consoles
- E-readers
- Keyboards
- Mice
Currently, there is still a legal exception for laptops. This means that the above rules do not yet apply to laptops. Please note: this will change from April 28, 2026, and the rules will then also apply to laptops. Make sure you are prepared for this!
Additional obligation from the directive
In addition to the above, this same law states that customers must have the option to purchase an item without a charger. If you sell an item with a charger, you are legally obliged to also offer a variant without a charger. This contributes to reducing electronic waste and providing more freedom of choice for the customer.
