Update guidelines for CE markings

We have informed you several times about the new guidelines for verifying CE markings and the requested action. In the Radar broadcast of March 31, 2022, it was once again emphasized that as a platform, we must be strict when selling, especially, potentially dangerous items. This has led us to decide to implement the policy for new product range (the mandatory photo upload) not on July 1, 2022, but accelerated to April 25, 2022. For existing product range, nothing changes: this must comply with the guidelines by July 1, 2022 at the latest.
Update on verifying CE markings
Read below which actions are expected from you before July 1.
Update July 4
As previously communicated, starting July 1, we began taking offline items that do not comply with the guidelines for CE marking. Given the large number of items, we will be taking these items offline in phases. We will do this per product category. It is possible that (some of) your items are still online. For these items, quickly add the required content, so your item remains online. Is your item already offline? Then fill in the mandatory content as soon as possible so your item comes back online. Please note: if your item has already been taken offline, you can only add the missing content in bulk.
For new product range, it remains the case that a mandatory photo upload is required from April 25, 2022. Without this upload, the item cannot be put online.

Update May 30
From July 1, it is mandatory to supplement the content of existing product range with 'CE Marking' and 'Trade name and contact address of manufacturer or importer in EU'. Below you will find the complete list of items where these details are still missing. It is important that the items below have the required content before July 1, otherwise they will be taken offline after this date.
This is what is expected from you before July 1:
- Download the Excel list below and check if your items are included or look up your item(s) in the table below. This list was updated on September 9.
- Supplement the missing attributes in the content of the relevant item.
Importer
Are you selling an item from a country outside the EU? And are you selling that item under the manufacturer's brand name? Then you are an importer and have the associated responsibilities. The importer must ensure that the manufacturer has prepared the technical documentation. A declaration of conformity is part of this documentation. As an importer, you must have a copy of this available.

Update April 11
New product range (adjusted policy)
When adding new product range (by this we mean offering a new item for which no content is yet available), it is mandatory from April 25 to upload a photo of the CE marking on the item. This concerns the content ‘CE marking’. Instructions and examples can be found here. If the CE marking cannot be applied to the item, then an upload of the CE marking on the packaging or an accompanying document, such as a manual, is sufficient. This date was initially July 1, but we have brought it forward.
Existing product range (unchanged)
For existing product range, the policy does not change: as of July 1, 2022, all product range for which a CE marking is mandatory must have its content updated in the seller account (uploading a photo is not necessary for existing product range). This concerns the content ‘CE marking’, for which you must choose one of the options: ‘visible’ or ‘not applicable’. From July 1, this will also be checked, and items for which this is not filled in will be taken offline.
For both existing and new product range, it is mandatory from July 1, 2022, to also fill in the content ‘The trade name and contact address of the manufacturer or importer in EU’.
