New process for requesting and sending invoices

Megaphone

If you sell items to business customers, you are legally obliged to provide them with a correct invoice. However, non-business customers can also request an invoice. Requesting and sending invoices currently generates many customer questions and email traffic. That is why we have developed a new process for this. Below, you can read all about this change.

This is the new process

Until now, your customers could request an invoice by submitting a request via Billie in their customer account. You could find this request under ‘customer questions’ in your seller account. You provided the invoice by sending it to your customer via email.

Thanks to a new button in the customer account, your customers can now request an invoice with a simple click. You will then find these requests under the new ‘invoice requests’ tab in the order screen (see image). Here, you upload the invoice, after which it is automatically sent to your customer. This change will be integrated in phases starting today.

Good to know: invoice requests must be answered within 24 hours by uploading the invoice in the seller account or via the Retailer API. You can also upload invoices directly after sending the order via the Retailer API. This allows the customer to immediately download the invoice from their customer account and prevents you from receiving invoice requests.

The benefits of this new process

With the new process, it is easier for customers to request an invoice. In addition, fewer customer cases are created, and the chance of requests remaining unanswered is much smaller. It also helps you work more efficiently. You have a better overview because all invoice requests are grouped together, and less email traffic is needed.

Automating invoice requests

Would you prefer to automate sending invoices? In June, a new endpoint will be available for the Retailer API, allowing you to automatically upload and forward invoices to your customer. This is already possible from April 25th via the beta version of the Retailer API v10. Would you like to use this? Click the button below for all specifications.
