New working method for Promotions via bol

One of our partners' biggest wishes is to be able to add items to promotions themselves. Since 2023, we have conducted extensive research into this need and introduced a new working method during the bol 7-Day event.
Interviews with partners show that they expect bol to provide a product range proposal, but at the same time want the freedom to add items themselves. To meet this need, we have started offering a product range proposal from bol. Additionally, we have developed a model to better predict which items will be successful in promotions. After the 2024 holiday season, we will start adding additional items to the suggested product range.
This new working method brings a few changes:
- We focus on current customer needs and only offer commission discounts on items that are expected to sell better during the promotion.
- This means that the items receiving a commission discount may vary per promotion and may also differ from the distributions before this change.
- The relevance score is no longer active and therefore no longer visible in the seller account.
- No score is mentioned in the seller account or the API, as it uses variable scores. Instead, the potential allocation of commission discount and the corresponding discount percentage are listed.
What does this mean for you?
The new way of working started during the bol 7-Day event in October. Additionally, we will temporarily continue to use existing product range selection methods as a supplement. The suggested product range for upcoming campaigns is already live in the seller account and the API.
After the 2024 holiday season, we will share more information about the possibility of adding items to promotions yourself. Naturally, we will also let you know when we fully discontinue the old product range selection methods. We will keep you updated!
