What's changing in cosmetics law

Are you selling cosmetics via bol? Then make sure all items comply with the legal change to the Cosmetics Regulation before September 1, 2025. The legal change will prohibit several ingredients in cosmetics. Read more about what this means for you below.
To ensure the safety and quality of our shared product range for customers, it's important that cosmetics comply with applicable laws and regulations. For example, your cosmetics product range must not contain prohibited substances. This means an item with a prohibited substance is not suitable for selling via our platform. The legal change, which takes effect on September 1, further tightens the list of prohibited substances for cosmetics.
Sell-out deadline September 1, 2025
Do your items still contain prohibited substances? Make sure these items are sold out before September 1. From that point on, it will only be allowed to sell items without the prohibited substances in the ingredients. If you plan to sell new stock of the item, it is important to update the content. This way, you won't miss out on sales.
How do I check if my item contains a prohibited substance?
