You can read more about DSA legislation in this news article from January 16th, 2024.

How do I manage my economic operators?

First and foremost, all sellers need to know who the responsible economic operators in the EU are for your items. If you don’t know, please contact a (legal) consultancy agency.

Managing economic operators consists of 2 parts:

1. Adding your economic operators

2. Linking the right economic operator to the right items

1. Adding your economic operators

You manage your economic operators in your seller account. To do so, go to Settings and select ‘Economic operator’. Here, you can add new economic operators and update current information. Please make sure that all your economic operators are in this overview. Each seller has to do this themself. This way, you’re not dependent on others.

Adding multiple economic operators at once

ℹ️ Soon, we will also add the option to add the information in bulk through an Excel upload. Would you like to wait for this to come into effect? Then, please make sure that you collect the necessary data now.

2. Linking the right economic operator to the right items

Now that you know who your economic operators are, it’s time to link them to the items. There are 2 ways of doing this:

  • 1 by 1
  • For multiple items at once

1 by 1

To link economic operators to items one by one, click on ‘Edit’ in the product overview. On this page, scroll down and find the subject ‘Economic operator’. Then, select the responsible market participant in the EU for this item.

For multiple items at once

To select the same responsible economic operator in the EU for multiple items, please go to the product overview. Here, you can select multiple items. When you’re done, click ‘Select economic operator’ and choose the economic operator that belongs to those items.

🚀 You can do this even faster by filtering, for instance, by brand, product group, or by copy-pasting a list of EANs into the search bar, so you can link them all to a economic operator at once. So convenient!

Have you automated your processes using the API?

It’s also possible to manage your economic operators using the Retailer API. For more information, please visit our developers website or go straight to the economic operator functional documentation.
