DSA: improved way of entering economic operator information

In order to comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA), the economic operator within the EU* needs to be known for each item.

The Digital Service Act (DSA) is a European law that applies to, among other things, all platforms that sell within the EU. Click further to see all information about the DSA. To improve the way to add information about the responsible economic operator within the EU* , we changed the way you have to do this.

What changed?
Previously, you would enter the information under product information but that has changed. From now on you can manage the economic operator information by yourself. Under the settings button in your seller account, you will find the subject ‘Economic operators’. You can add the economic operators that are relevant to you in this screen. After you’ve added the economic operators, you can link these to your items in your product overview.

Have you entered your economic operators already?

Unfortunately, you will have to do it again. We have tried to make it as easy as possible to add multiple items to the same economic operator at once. We have created a comprehensive page on our Partner Platform where you will find all the information you need.

What is the deadline for (re)entering the economic operator information?

From February 1st, 2025, bol will start taking items that do not have a responsible economic operator in the EU offline. Please note: the information has to be entered as decribed above. The current product information attributes for economic operators will therefore no longer be valid from February 1st, 2025, and will no longer be displayed.

Are you not sure who the responsible economic operator within the EU is for your item(s)?

The flowchart below can help you to determine the responsible economic operator in the EU. Please note that for the last step in the illustration (fulfilment service provider being responsible) you must have made arrangements with your service provider about this. Don’t know who is the responsible economic operator in the EU for your item? Then contact a (legal) consultancy firm.
