Learn more about consumer law

bol has been working structurally with the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) for some time to remove items that do not comply with the law from the platform. Additionally, bol has internal systems and processes to respond appropriately and thus reduce the risk of consumers encountering unsafe items. Signing the Product Safety Pledge supports bol's ambition to continue to improve this approach. These are voluntary agreements with the European Commission and other online marketplaces. The starting point is that the items sold via our platform are safe, and that the quality of the service is good.
We therefore believe it is important that our selling partners have sufficient knowledge of consumer law and know which rules apply. This includes, for example, laws and regulations regarding warranty, the right of withdrawal, and information requirements. To help you with this, we would like to draw your attention to the Consumer Law Ready training program, which has been specially developed for small and medium-sized enterprises.
