DSA: improved method for entering economic operator information

Pens

To comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA), the responsible economic operator in the EU* for every item must be known.

The Digital Service Act (DSA) is a European law that applies to, among others, all platforms that sell within the EU. Click here for all information regarding the DSA.

Responsible economic operator

The responsible economic operator can be the manufacturer, authorized representative, importer, distributor, fulfilment service provider or other natural or legal persons for whom obligations apply regarding the manufacturing of items, their offering on the market or their commissioning in accordance with the applicable harmonization legislation of the Union (Article 3 point 13 Regulation EU 2019/1020).

To make it easier to add information about the responsible economic operator in the EU, we have changed how you should do this.

What has changed?

Previously, you could enter the data under the content, but this is no longer the case. From now on, you can manage the information about your economic operators yourself. In your seller account, under Settings, you will find a section called “Economic Operators”. On this screen, you can add your economic operators. After you have added the economic operators, you can link them to your items in the item overview.

Have you already entered your economic operators?

Unfortunately, you will have to do this again. We have made it as easy as possible to select the same economic operator for multiple items at once. We have prepared an extensive Partnerplatform page for you, where you can find out how to do this.

Don't know who the responsible economic operator in the EU for your item is?

The flowchart below can be a helpful tool in determining the responsible economic operator in the EU. Please note: for the last step in the image (the fulfillment service provider who is responsible), you must have made agreements with your service provider. If you don't know who the responsible economic operator in the EU for your item is, then consult a (legal) advisory firm.
