New PostNL letterbox mail delivery method
Deadline op 13 juli 2026

As of July 13, we are changing the network we use for letterbox shipments. Changes to the Postal Act now allow for longer delivery times for letterbox post. To keep our fast delivery promise, we're switching to a more reliable PostNL network. This network operates via PostNL's parcel network and ensures higher delivery reliability. This change affects delivery, labels, and conditions.
What is changing?
- New PostNL network for letterbox mail
From July 13, letterbox shipments will be processed via PostNL's parcel network 'Brievenbuspakje+'. This network offers improved delivery performance, with a delivery promise of 'Ordered today, delivered tomorrow'.
This means better delivery reliability, with the same rates. - No more dropping off in orange mailboxes
Letterbox shipments may no longer be dropped off in the orange PostNL mailboxes. Drop off is only possible at PostNL drop off points. Letterbox mail that ends up in mailboxes may be delayed. You may also receive a surcharge for this. This can also affect your 'On time handover' service standard score. A lower score on this service standard may result in strikes. - Letter mail and parcels no longer need to be separated
Another change is that letterbox mail and regular parcels no longer need to be delivered separately to PostNL. Also convenient: PostNL shipments can be dropped off at both PostNL and Ampère drop off points. - Different labels
You will no longer see a letterbox label in your seller account, but a letterbox parcel label. With this label, the shipment is, of course, still suitable for letterbox delivery.
What do you need to do?
✅ Drop off letterbox mail shipments at a PostNL drop off point
❌ Do not drop off in orange PostNL mailboxes
✅ Use the label as provided in your seller account
✅ Letterbox mail and regular parcels may be delivered together
