New energy label guidelines

As previously announced, energy labelling rules within the European Union are changing. Effective March 1st, this change applies to several household appliances, televisions, and monitors. From September 1st, the new directive will also apply to lighting.
Because most items are becoming increasingly energy-efficient, more and more appliances are falling into classes A+, A++ and A+++. This has proven confusing for customers. Therefore, this classification for refrigeration/freezing appliances, dishwashers, washing machines, washer-dryers, televisions, monitors, and lighting will be gradually phased out from 2021. The new classification only includes categories A to G (without A+, A++ and A+++).
What is expected of me?
To comply with the new legislation, the following is required:
- the item characteristic ‘New Energy Label Value 2021’ must be filled in.
- the PDF of the new label must be added to the item characteristic ‘Energy Label URL 2021’.
If the existing offer does not have a new energy label, it can be taken offline. For household appliances, televisions, and monitors, this applies from April 1st, and for lighting, it will take effect on September 1st.
