Sponsored reviews not allowed from July 1
From July 1, 2024, customers will no longer be allowed to post sponsored reviews on bol. This policy tightening is due to the Digital Services Act (DSA), Article 26.
What are sponsored reviews?
Sponsored reviews are reviews for which the reviewer has received some form of compensation. Examples include providing the item for free (temporarily), giving a discount, or a gift card.
Such reviews are considered an unauthorized way to promote your own shop and/or items. This is a policy violation and falls under the category of self-promotion, which we monitor.
DSA: what is it?
DSA is short for Digital Services Act. This is new European legislation that applies to bol from February 17, 2024. The DSA legislation was created to make online platforms safe for users and to protect their rights. Read more about the DSA.
