Update delivery promise Shipping via bol

Stack of boxes.

Fulfilling the delivery promise for the Shipping via bol service is important for both the customer and you as a partner. We are working hard to return to 'ordered today, delivered tomorrow' as quickly as possible. Below, you can read what this means.

This 48-hour instead of 24-hour delivery promise is not the situation we envision. That's why we're working hard to return to 'ordered today, delivered tomorrow' as quickly as possible. Data analysis has already shown where some of the obstacles in the process lie: carriers don't always deliver all packages on time, or some partners drop off packages too late.

The improvement initiatives

Within bol, we have set up a project team to return to 'ordered today, delivered tomorrow' as quickly as possible. We are working on innovations that improve the delivery quality of Shipping via bol, specifically:

  • Through this adjustment to the 'Items on time' service standard, we will ensure that packages are dropped off on time
  • Since collection times are not the same for every drop-off location, we are working with carriers on solutions to better assist you. In the meantime, consult the location guides for PostNL, DHL, and Instabox
  • Together with carriers, we are implementing process improvements.
  • More initiatives will follow, so keep an eye on the Partnerplatform

The future outlook

Because we value honesty and transparency in a good partnership, we want to share our expectations for 'ordered today, delivered tomorrow' with you. Since change takes time and we are quickly approaching the holiday peak, we expect to return to 24-hour delivery for Shipping via bol by early 2023.

What can you do in the meantime?

  • Drop off your packages at well-performing locations
  • Check the collection times of the location where you drop off your packages. See the location guides for PostNL, DHL, and Instabox here
  • Ship your orders based on the drop-off date ('latest handover date time' if you use the API)
