Changing Company Details

On this page, you will find information about your company details in the account settings.

Company details

You can find your company details in your account under 'Settings' in the 'Company details' section.

Screen where a user enters company details in an online form, with fields for company name, address, and contact information.

Please note

Is your company not located in the Netherlands or Belgium? Please contact Partnerservice to change your Chamber of Commerce or VAT number.

Changing your Chamber of Commerce number

In certain cases, it is possible to change your Chamber of Commerce number yourself in your seller account via 'Settings' under 'Company details'. The Chamber of Commerce number of your seller account(s) can only be changed if the business structure changes due to expansion, with the original owner remaining involved as an owner under the new Chamber of Commerce number.

Follow the steps and confirm the change via 'Two-step verification'. As soon as your Chamber of Commerce number has been changed, we will retrieve your new data from the Chamber of Commerce. Your company name and registered address will then be automatically updated.

Please note: if you have multiple seller accounts, you will change the Chamber of Commerce number for all seller accounts that have the same Chamber of Commerce number.

As a sole proprietorship, the company is often registered at a private address. It is therefore possible to provide a different address to the Chamber of Commerce and then have bol process this. Do you want to know more about how to shield your private address? You can find more information here.

Have you shielded your private address, but has bol not yet processed this? You can request this update yourself in the seller account under 'Company details'. By clicking on 'Refresh data', your most recent information will automatically be retrieved from the Chamber of Commerce (for Dutch partners) or the KBO (for Belgian partners).

Changing your VAT number

Dutch and Belgian partners can easily change their VAT number in the seller account via 'Settings' under 'Company details', and then confirm via 'Two-step verification'. We will check if the number you entered is valid.

Please note: if you have multiple shops, you will change the VAT number for all shops that have the same Chamber of Commerce or VAT number.

Changing your company name or registered address

It may be that you have changed your company name or registered address in the trade register. In that case, the information on your seller page is no longer correct. You can request this information update yourself in the seller account under 'Company details'. By clicking on 'Refresh data', your most recent information will automatically be retrieved from the Chamber of Commerce (for Dutch partners) or the KBO (for Belgian partners). You will immediately see the new data, and also when this information was last refreshed.

Cross-national company changes

Unfortunately, it is not possible to update your account with company details from a different country. This means that you cannot change your existing company information (including company number, VAT number, etc.) to details of a company in another country. If your business has relocated to another country, you should request a new account via ‘Selling via bol as an EU partner‘. We wijzen je erop dat er aanvullende eisen gelden om een EU partner te worden, we kunnen daarom niet garanderen dat het mogelijk is om een nieuw account te verkrijgen als EU partner.

Transferring a seller account

As stated in our General Terms and Conditions, it is not possible to transfer your seller account to a third party. Company details can only be adjusted if the business structure changes due to expansion, with the original owner remaining involved as an owner under the new Chamber of Commerce number. If this is not the case, we cannot process your Chamber of Commerce number change. You can then open a new seller account with the new company details.

To make the above even clearer, here are a few examples where changes are permitted:

  • From a sole proprietorship to a private limited company (BV)/general partnership (VOF) where the owner remains involved as an owner in the BV/VOF.

Examples where changes are not permitted:

  • All cases where no original owner remains involved with the new company. This concerns an acquisition and is not permitted.
  • From a BV to a VOF and from a BV/VOF to a sole proprietorship, because then a part of the company's liability is lost.
  • From one BV to another BV, because this is considered a new company.
  • From one sole proprietorship to another sole proprietorship.
  • From one general partnership (VOF) to another general partnership.

Please note: if you have adjusted your Chamber of Commerce number due to a company expansion, this change cannot be reversed.

If, after verification, it appears that a change violates our terms, the seller accounts to which the change was applied will be closed.

Creating a second seller account

For creating a second seller account, the same steps apply as when you created your first seller account. When creating a second seller account, you need to consider a few things:

  1. Only 1 unique VAT number per Chamber of Commerce registration is allowed. Do you want to create a second seller account under the same Chamber of Commerce number? Then the VAT number must match the VAT number in your existing seller account.
Do you want to check which VAT number bol has on file in combination with your Chamber of Commerce number? Log in with your other seller account and check under 'Company details' which VAT number we have. Then use this information to open your new seller account.
  2. Make sure you do not have duplicate offers. This means that, when you have multiple seller accounts, the product range or the country of sale must differ per account.
  3. It is not possible to use the same email address as a login for multiple seller accounts. Therefore, when creating a second seller account, you must use a different email address.
  4. Are you selling across borders? Then it is not possible to use a reply number or PO box as a return address. You can find more information about selling across borders here.

Creating multiple seller accounts with the same (company) details

It is possible to create multiple seller accounts. As a partner, you must meet the following conditions to create multiple seller accounts:

  • Each of your seller account(s) has successfully completed the GrowStart period (with the exception of the first 2 seller accounts, to allow for a split between the Netherlands and Belgium).
  • Each of your seller account(s) has 3 strikes or fewer.
  • Each of your seller account(s) has more than 50 policy points.
  • Each of your seller account(s) has a rating of 6.0 or higher.

You also need to have a different login email address for each separate seller account, or a different bol- or buyer account. For example, you can choose to – instead of handling all your sales from one account – create different accounts for sales in the Netherlands and for sales in Belgium. Look here for the pros and cons of using multiple accounts. Please note: 'duplicate offers', where you compete with yourself, is not allowed.
