Instruction Videos
Advertising via bol with sponsored products is easier than you think. You just need to know how it works. Good news: thanks to our videos with tips & tricks, you'll master it in no time!
Step 1: How to create an automatic campaign
Not sure how to get the best results yet? In this video, Retail Media Consultant Ken explains why an automatic campaign is the best choice for you. The sponsored products system will manage bidding and determine your keywords. It's that easy! Follow these 4 steps:
- Give your campaign a name and choose the items you want to advertise
- Choose 'automatic' as the campaign type
- Set a duration, ACoS, and limits for your campaign
- Check your settings before launching your campaign
Step 2: Set up budgets
In this video, Campaign Manager Bas teaches you all about budgets. What are the 3 most important takeaways?
- Setting budgets gives you more control over what you want to spend on sponsored products.
- Pay attention when setting a daily budget: most sales via bol happen from 5 PM onwards. It would be a shame if your campaign stopped by then! How do you find out what your ideal daily budget is? Start with a daily budget of €15 and monitor the results closely for the first few days.
- If no budget is left, but you want to continue a high-performing campaign? Consider lowering your bids, so your campaign budget lasts longer.

Create and manage account budget
In this video, you'll learn all about the account budget. If you set an account budget, the system stops advertising once that budget is depleted. This helps you keep control of your advertising expenses. When the budget or the end date is reached, all campaigns in the account automatically stop. Once a campaign has stopped, you'll see this reflected in the campaign overview. So, it's good to check this regularly!
Step 3: Analyze and improve your automatic campaign
After watching this video, you'll know how to improve an automatic campaign. On the campaign details page, you'll find all your campaign results. Your performance is visible at 3 levels:
- How is your campaign performing overall?
- You can also monitor per item. Is an item performing very well? Increasing your target ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sale) can be a smart move.
- Or view your performance at the placement level: which placements are relatively expensive but yield little conversion? Exclude these for better results.

4. How to create a manual campaign
Do you already know how to achieve the best results? And do you want to fully control the visibility of your ads yourself? Then choose a manual campaign. In this video, Retail Campaign Specialist Yasmin tells you how to create such a campaign in 4 steps:
- Give your campaign a name and choose the items you want to advertise
- Choose 'manual' as the campaign type and the keywords you do and do not want to be found for
- Set a duration and budget for your campaign
- Check your settings before launching your campaign
Step 5: Analyze and improve your manual campaign with reports
In this video, Retail Campaign Specialist Yasmin shares more useful tips on improving your manual campaign.
For example, always look first at your ACoS or RoAS. These tell you something about the efficiency of your campaign. Is an item's ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sale) lagging? Then you can choose to disable the item. Then add it to a new campaign, lower the bid, and analyze the results again. Perhaps with this lower bid, you'll achieve a better ACoS!
Step 6: Advanced settings for your manual campaign
Have you mastered advertising and are ready for more in-depth knowledge? Then use the advanced settings of sponsored products. In this video, Retail Media Consultant Ken tells you all about it.
- Organize your items into ad groups for a clearer overview in your seller account
- Choose in which countries, on which devices, and types of pages you want to display your ads
