General information

Our customers find it important to know where an order is and when they can expect it. That's why a track & trace code is necessary. Adding a track & trace code also helps reduce customer inquiries and leads to higher customer ratings. Therefore, always add a (correct) track & trace code to your parcels.

For letter post, a track & trace number is not mandatory, but it is desirable.

When you don't use a track & trace code

If you don't ship many trackable parcels, this will negatively impact your quality score. If you ship many trackable parcels, this will positively impact your quality score and thus your buy box chances. Read more about the quality score here.

How to improve your score

  1. Enter the correct Track & Trace code.
Once you enter a Track & Trace code, it can’t be changed, not even if you’ve chosen the wrong shipping label, for example. So, always check that you are using the correct number.
  2. Check the Track & Trace requirement for each shipment type.
Requirements vary by shipment type, such as self-shipment, Parcel stamps via bol, or a delivery appointment.
  3. Work with carriers that provide clear Track & Trace information.
This allows the customer to easily track the shipment.
  4. Use a shipping platform.
This allows you to easily and often more affordably buy shipping labels with Track & Trace.
  5. Use Shipping via bol.
We'll handle the shipping of your packages for you, always providing the correct Track & Trace code.
  6. Do you sell via multiple channels? Then consider using an integrator.
An integrator allows you to synchronise your items and streamline order processing between bol and your own webshop.
