Intellectual property infringement
Intellectual property infringement is one of the categories of policy violations that we monitor. This includes non-compliance with applicable intellectual property rights on content, brand, patent, and images – including actively bypassing the selling rights applicable via bol. What is, for example, not allowed:
- Registering on an item page (or selling) a branded item when you are not authorized to sell this brand.
- Registering on an item page and then changing that item page to a completely different item.
- Selling an item that infringes a patent.
- Using texts and images for your content without the original author's permission. For example, copying images from other partners on the platform is not allowed.
What is allowed:
- Using existing texts and images for the content with (written) permission from the original author (e.g., a manufacturer).
Bypassing brand authorization and/or selling rights
What is, for example, not allowed:
- Sending unbranded items in a category where this is not allowed. View this page for the current product range policy.
- Bypassing brand authorization or violating the authorization conditions.

Good to know: If you have multiple seller accounts, in the event of an 'Intellectual property infringement' policy violation, we have the authority to deduct the relevant number of points from all your accounts linked to the same Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number and to impose a sales block for the brand or category.
