Definition

An item that uses no or less environmentally harmful materials or ingredients compared to similar items with the same function, as shown by a quality mark or established product feature.

Labels

The following labels can be assigned to items within this theme:

  • PFAS-free: Items produced without PFAS compared to similar items that still contain PFAS.
  • Microplastic-free: Items produced without microplastics compared to similar items that (still) contain microplastics.
  • Avoids harmful substances: Items with a quality mark that meets above-legal standards, or an established product feature where no or fewer substances are used that could be harmful to humans, animals, or the environment.

Suitable quality marks and certificates

An item must carry one of the quality marks or certificates below to qualify for a label.

Apply for a sustainability label

Do you sell a product range that carries a quality mark or certificate? Then you can apply for one or more labels by following these steps:

  1. Check if your product range meets the criteria of the desired label (see themes);
  2. Download "Application_form_Sustainability_labels" using the button below and indicate per EAN which quality mark your item carries. Does the quality mark apply to the entire brand? Then fill in the 'brandlevel' tab with the brand name and the quality mark.
  3. Upload the proof of your sustainability quality marks so we can be sure your product range qualifies.
  4. Fill in the form and click 'send'. The form can be found on every theme page. See the menu on the left for this.
  5. You will receive a response within 2 working days.
