Control over raw material extraction and production process

An item with a quality mark that sets requirements for the way raw materials are extracted and the product is made, with attention to the environment, or with an established product feature that provides transparent information about this.

The following labels can, when relevant, be assigned to items within the theme:

• Organic: Items with the EU organic quality mark, where people, animals, the environment, and biodiversity are taken into account during production.

• Controlled cultivation: Items with raw materials that have been cultivated under strict supervision: they have a quality mark or established product feature that imposes restrictions on the use of, for example, pesticides and/or artificial fertilizers.
• Controlled origin: Items with a quality mark that sets requirements to prevent problems such as deforestation and overfishing.
• Environmentally conscious production: Items that are produced in an environmentally conscious way, as shown by the quality mark it carries.

Do you sell a product range that has a quality mark or feature? Then it's possible to request one or more labels using the following steps:

1. Check whether your product range meets the criteria for the desired label (see themes);
2. Download "Application_form_Sustainability_features" using the button below and indicate per EAN which quality mark your item carries. Does the quality mark apply to the entire brand? Then fill in the tab ‘brandlevel’ with the name of the brand and the quality mark.
3. Upload the evidence of your sustainability quality marks so we can be sure your product range qualifies.
4. Fill out the form and click 'send'. The form can be found on every theme page. See the menu on the left.
5. You will receive a response within 2 working days.
