An item that helps save energy because it provides insulation, is more efficient to use than similar items, uses solar power instead of a non-renewable energy source, or encourages energy-saving behaviour.
Labels
The following labels can be assigned to items within this theme:
- Generates solar energy: Items that generate solar energy to replace electricity grid power, where any surplus energy can be fed back into the grid.
- Insulates: Items that reduce heat demand (and thus energy) because they provide insulation.
- Helps save energy: Items that encourage energy-saving behaviour by raising user awareness of their energy consumption.
Top 30% most energy-efficient: Items that belong to the top 30% most energy-efficient choices within their product category sold on our shopping platform. This applies to items where energy consumption forms the largest part of the environmental impact. These items are evaluated on their energy label and power consumption relative to similar items within the same product category, assessed annually by Milieu Centraal. Read here the justification and methodology behind the 30% most energy-efficient choices.
Eligible quality marks and certificates
An item must carry at least one of the quality marks or certificates below to qualify for a label:
*The government has made an energy label mandatory for 16 categories of household appliances. The appliance is assigned a class based on energy consumption. Depending on the product category, labels range from F (lowest) to A (highest) or even A+++. The higher the class, the more energy-efficient the item is. We automatically add the most energy-efficient items to product categories where the greatest negative environmental impact occurs during the product lifecycle. When your content is added correctly, it is automatically included. So you don't need to fill out a form for this.

Do you want to request labels for multiple themes? You can do this all in 1 single form. You don't need to fill out a separate form for each theme.
