Dried animal products

Here you will find information about the policy for animal items and how to apply for selling rights for dried animal items.

Policy for dried animal items

For (perishable) food products such as cheese and sausage, legally prescribed temperatures have been established under the Dutch Commodities Act (Warenwet). These are enforced by the NVWA, which inspects companies to ensure they comply with the criteria and their food safety plan (HACCP or hygiene code).

Applying for Sales Rights for Dried Animal Products

To obtain sales rights for the product category of dried animal products, the general policies for offering Food & Beverages on bol remain applicable (see link), such as the requirement that all items are GS1 registered.

In addition to the current policy, the following additional conditions must be met:

• You are familiar with the CBL hygiene code and have adapted your business operations accordingly, or you have your own HACCP plan that incorporates this code.

• You are registered with the NVWA as a food business.

• All dried animal products are vacuum-packed using a professional vacuum machine that receives annual maintenance by a certified company.

• All items are labelled with ingredients and a best-before date (THT) with a minimum shelf life of 90 days.

• All items must be kept in stock and transported chilled, up to a maximum of 7°C, or according to the storage temperature advice stated on the packaging.

• All packages containing dried animal products must be shipped chilled with cool packs suitable for the food industry.

• These items cannot be returned.

Because these conditions are essential for ensuring food safety—and thus maintaining customer trust when purchasing from us—we strictly enforce them. In case of violations, policy points will be deducted.
