Personal protective equipment in Category III must provide protection in situations where a failure can directly lead to serious injury or death. That's why these items must meet the highest quality standards and undergo strict inspection and extensive certification. Examples include a safety harness or a life jacket. It's important to us that these items are reliable, safe, of high quality, and fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations. Requesting selling rights
To obtain selling rights for personal protective equipment Category III, you must ensure that all your personal protective equipment has the correct quality mark and documentation. This means:
- Each personal protective equipment item must have a CE mark followed by the notified body number on the packaging (unless this is not possible due to the nature of the item);
- Each personal protective equipment item must have a Declaration of Conformity stating that the manufacturer/importer declares the item has been deemed safe by a notified body;
- Each personal protective equipment item must have a valid EU type-examination certificate;
- Each personal protective equipment item must have a registered trademark with the BOIP.
- You must ensure that you possess the correct quality mark and documentation for every item.
If your item does not have a CE mark / Declaration of Conformity / EU type-examination certificate / registered trademark, then the item is not suitable for selling via our platform.
To apply for selling rights, follow these steps:
- Clean up your product range before submitting an application by removing items that do not meet the above requirements from your offer;
- Send the following information (completed) as an application for selling rights to productsafety@bol.com; (Are you applying for these rights for multiple accounts? Then repeat steps A to D for the other accounts.)

C. Application date

F. 'Yes, I agree to the additional terms 'Conditions of Use Professional Sales via bol' for selling rights - We will select 5 items from your offer for a sample check;
- These 5 items will be sent to you by email in response to your application;
- For these 5 items, you will send:
- A photo of the CE marking (including notified body number/institution number)
- A valid Declaration of Conformity
- The EU type-examination certificate
- The BOIP-registration number
- We will check the above-mentioned documentation;
- If these meet the requirements? Then you will receive selling rights for personal protective equipment Category III;
- If these do not meet the requirements? Then we cannot grant selling rights.
- You will be informed by email about the outcome of your application.
Once you have received selling rights, personal protective equipment may be offered. The selling rights are checked periodically. Ensure that you can always provide the Declaration of Conformity, CE documents, and a valid EU type-examination certificate for all your personal protective equipment.
To keep the processing time of your application as short as possible, we apply different deadlines for completing a selling rights application. Which deadline applies to you depends on the number of years you have been active on bol.
