To ensure the quality of the item pages via bol, rules have been established. On this page, you can read what you, as a partner, need to consider.

These rules apply to your content

Content is intended to inform the customer about the characteristics of an item. The content must be objective and not temporary. The customer should get a clear picture of the item, independently of the partner. This means that as a partner, you must take into account rules regarding the content you use for your items. Content refers to all information you can add to an item page, including both images and text.

Please note!

The rules for content are part of the policy points system. This means that if these rules are violated, your seller account(s) may receive a reduction in policy points. The number of points deducted depends on the severity and/or extent of the violation.

What rules apply?

  1. References to websites. It is strictly forbidden to refer to websites on an item page.
  2. Prices. Content may not refer to prices. The price of the item is already displayed on the item page.
  3. Delivery times. Content may not contain claims about the delivery (or delivery time) of an item.
  4. Promotions & holidays. Content may not be used to promote items for a specific holiday such as Father's Day or Black Friday.
  5. Sales slogans. It is not allowed to include sales slogans in the content. Some examples that are not allowed:
    1. While stocks last
    2. the word 'cheap'
    3. buy one get one free

Sustainability claims in content

Claims or statements about sustainability aspects of items must be clear and relevant. Therefore, the content must comply with the ACM guidelines. This means that vague terms (see the list below) may not be used in the description of an item. Instead, specific sustainability benefits must be mentioned, such as: 70% recycled material, waste-reducing, recyclable, or energy-saving.
